One of our Cherubs customers is a tattoo artist, which is fun for Hannah as she loves to incorporate images of tattoos with her baby shoots. She was thrilled when she received an email from this client about a National Tattoo Portrait Competition, as it was the perfect opportunity for her to explore her own creative visions and experiment.
We advertised on Facebook Fan Page for tattoo models and Rebecca, our cherubs client, contacted some of her customers to let them know what we were doing. We had a massive response and eventually narrowed it down to two male models who volunteered their time in exchange for some images. They were both great models and very relaxed in front of the camera. In both cases we found they had a very definite personal style which really suited their tattoos. One wore a flat cap and braces, and we experimented with smoke and coloured gels on the lights which complemented the colourful tattoos which covered his body. The other had some beautiful Polynesian designs on his arms and they looked really good with his chiseled features.
Now we have submitted our images for the competition, they will be cut down to a shortlist and printed for an exhibition hosted by Tattoo Freeze in Shropshire where the public will vote for the winners. We recently had the opportunity to do some shooting in Sri Lanka. On our down time, it was great to be shooting people and landscapes completely different to our regular work. It is such a beautiful country and due to the war and the tsunami deviation that affected Sri Lanka, it’s great to see that its redeveloping.
Our main love was definitely the animals – every time we saw elephants or monkeys we kept trying to get better and better shots! The people of Sri Lanka also loved having their photo taken – just showing them the photo on the back of the camera always got a great smile!
We have had a lot of requests for a fine art section of the website that will allow us to sell these and many more as prints – we are working on it and hope to have it up and running soon!

We really appreciate how lucky we are to do what we love as a career, however every so often we need a break from it all.
We had the great fortune of traveling to Mexico at the end of February, lapping up the sun in the amazing Cancun!
We had 7 days from the studio that were packed with excursions and the occasional lounging on the beach. In that time we drove our own speed boat around the crocodile filled lagoon, soaked up Mexican culture at the Ancient Mayan ruins, scuba dived and swam with dolphins – to name but a few!
We still find it impossible to leave home without our cameras and couldn’t help but snap away at all the beautiful scenery.
