Families with disabled children

Filed under Portraits • Written by artisstudios @ 7:45 pm

We sometimes get enquiries from families that want to come and have a family portrait but are
concerned about the experience for their disabled child.

The concerns differ, but are usually about the child not feeling comfortable, not knowing how
they will react, getting upset or not participating.

We had a really fun shoot over the Christmas period with Chris and his family. Chris is 19 and was
born autistic. There were concerns with how Chris would react to the shoot as he had never
had professional photos taken before.

The results were fantastic! Chris responded really well to our relaxed studio atmosphere and we got some great natural photos.

Upon seeing the photos Chris’s Mum told us: “I was just hoping for some decent ones of Chris, but
they were more than decent – they were amazing!”

A Christmas Wedding

Filed under Weddings • Written by artisstudios @ 11:46 am

Christmas Weddings are always fun for us to shoot as people are in high spirits, getting into the festive mood and venues are beautifully decorated.

This year we had the pleasure of shooting a wedding on Christmas Eve at Northcote House, Ascot. The wedding had it’s official signing at the Wokingham Registry Office in the morning. In the evening there was a humanist ceremony conducted by candlelight, where Verity and Andrew read their own vows to each other.

A lovely start to the festivities, and the beautifully decorated venue made for some fantastic Christmasy shots!

An Army Wedding

Filed under Weddings • Written by artisstudios @ 12:33 pm

We shot a lovely wedding just before Christmas at St Sebastians Church, Wokingham with the reception at Frimley Hall Hotel.

The groom and 3 of his ushers were all dressed in their army uniforms which made great photos – especially the manic polishing of their boots and shining of their belt buckles.

The weather was great for December and luckily milder than most. Frimley Hall was beautifully decorated for Christmas with a 12 foot christmas tree and a roaring log fire in the reception. The top table was decorated with blue fairy lights and the room finished in candles.
