Throughout June the weather has been somewhat unpredictable but none more than at our wedding last Saturday in Norwich. The day started with bright sunshine as we met up with the groom and guests to travel to the ceremony via a double decker london bus. Whilst waiting for the guests to board the bus, the heavens opened and we were soaked by a sudden downpour.
Thanks to the returning bright sunshine we arrived at the ceremony warm and dry, only to have another downpour! Luckily this didn’t put a dampener on the bride as she exited her car, in fact it meant she got to show off her her fantastic, vintage white umbrella. The weather was equally unpredictable throughout the rest of the day consisting of bright sunshine one moment, and dark apocalyptic clouds the next.
Although many couples can stress about the weather for their wedding day, Nikki and Russell took it all in their stride and didn’t let it bother them. Although the weather proved a technical challenge for us, changing from bright sunshine one second to dark clouds the next, we think it really added to the day! An ominous roll of thunder during one of the ceremonys readings had the crowd laughing and the moody sky made a great backdrop for our group shot.
Our favourite moment was when we had a break in the rain and headed down to the beach. The sun was out and the clouds in the sky looked amazing! The shots look like they’re from a hot destination wedding and worked great with the active wedding party shots. An unpredictable but fantastic day, and here a few beach shots to share!

We often get enquiries about photographing large groups of friends in our studio, often for a birthday party or graduation celebration. As there has been such a demand recently we have decided to add portrait parties to the packages we already have on offer. So far they have proved to be really successful and a lot of fun!
For our most recent portrait party, Scarlett decided that for her birthday she would bring in seven of her best friends for a shoot. They were able to play their own music through our iPod speakers to help create that party atmosphere and make the experience their own. We got some lovely group shots which we’re sure she’ll look back on with some great memories, and also some stunning individual shots of the girls. They had a brilliant time striking their best poses!
Portrait parties are a great way to celebrate birthdays, hen nights etc. or just an excuse to have a great time with your friends! For £150, you and up to seven friends will have 1 and 1/2 hours in our studio and this includes an 8″ x 12″ print of your favourite group shot for the main organiser, and each guest will receive a 5″ x 7″ copy of that photo. In addition to this everyone gets an individual shot of themselves which they can use on their Facebook profile. We provide sweets and music but if you would rather bring your own music we have a CD player and iPod dock. For that extra special touch, the Nail & Body Zone offer a special rate for our parties if you would like to have your hair and makeup done too!
If you would like more information or would like to book your own portrait party, just give us a call on 01344 870033.
Here are some of our favourite photos from some of our portrait parties!

We absolutely love it when we get the opportunity to photograph at venues that have really thought about the mood and lighting of the rooms. We shot a great wedding last week at Saville Court in Virginia Waters where the wedding ceremony and wedding breakfast all took place in a beautiful circular orangery. The floor to ceiling windows let in floods of natural light and the fantastic domed roof softened the light creating stunning results.
This lighting made for some beautiful shots and added to the emotion of the ceremony.
Whilst the orangery was being transformed from a ceremony room into the reception room, guests mingled in an adjacent Victorian bar that had heaps of features including leather chesterfields, ornate fireplaces and tall windows that created stunning lighting.
We had a brilliant day and Linda and Leigh made gorgeous subjects!

Sometimes it’s very hard to pick a story for a wedding as there is so much that I want to blog about. This was definitely the case for Nicola and Andrew’s Blessing at St. Mary’s Church in Winkfield, followed by a beautiful marquee at a family home in Virginia Waters. I could have blogged about the amazing choir during the service who did a beautiful version of Fleetwood Mac’s ‘Everywhere’, or the Jazz Quartet that followed the guests from the church, on the red London bus, onto the marquee.
In the end, my favourite photos came at the end with some amazing first dance and band shots. Like many couples we meet, I don’t think Andrew and Nicola were particularly looking forward to the first dance. However, instead of shying away they really went for it! They rehearsed a short routine to an upbeat song which got a great reaction from the crowd, and got people straight on the dance floor. The lighting in the marquee was beautiful, consisting of pastel colour chinese lanterns, and made a great background to the dancing photos. The band then burst onto stage, full of energy, and I am sure they would have kept people on the dance floor all night!

We recently had this family in for their final shoot of the Cherubs baby club, and they made such an impression on us we thought we’d share some of our favourite moments with them.
Everyone had a whale of a time when they came in for their first cherubs photoshoot. The parents spent the shoot howling with the laughter at their newborn! They are such great characters and we really noticed how much this enthusiasm rubs off on their kids.
When they came in for their second shoot they really made Hannah’s day. Their little girl Charlotte had spent that morning baking, and so it was really cute when she came in and presented Hannah with a little cupcake she had made especially for her!
A few weeks ago we photographed their last Cherubs session which came at a time when they had just moved into a new house that they are planning to renovate, so they were worried it would look untidy. One of the shots they loved could be seen as a messy photo with buckets and tools in shot, but as Hannah pointed out, it’s a sign of the times and will bring back lots of memories in years to come.
Although we’re sorry to see them finish their Cherubs scheme we hope to see them again and have the pleasure of watching the family grow up.
