The sneak peak you’ve all been waiting for…

We had the great pleasure of recently photographing a beautiful wedding in the city of Versailles, just outside Paris, France.  We have worked with Evelyn, Dave and their two gorgeous girls for over 2 years now starting with a pregnancy shoot with Evelyn and continuing on with our cherubs scheme. When we heard Evelyn and Dave were getting married in Versaille, we jumped at the chance of offering our services as their wedding photographers.

This unique wedding started with the bride and groom walking through the city of Versailles (seperately with their guests) to the town hall where the ceremony would be conducted by the Mayor.  The town hall was amazing with giant domed ceilings and fantastic attention to the architectural detail that the French do so well! After the ceremony we then took a 10 minute walk through Versailles which made for fantastic photos as all the guests took in the picturesque city.

The canapes then took place in an amazing room opposite the Palace of Versaille.  The rooms interior was modelled on the interior of the famous Palace of Versailles and created breathtaking photos wherever we looked.The evening continued at a restaurant and the end of the Palace gardens (10 km away!) and the celebrations, great food and good drink continued long into the hours of the early morning.

We were honoured to shoot this wedding and after hearing how rare it is to have a wedding in Versailles, have realised what a fantastic once in a lifetime opportunity it was.  There were too many to choose from but here are some of our favourite images…

When planning a photo shoot in the studio, the first thing that often springs to mind are the bright white background shots with lots of big smiles. They are full of colour and are great to show kids having fun and playing games. We love this kind of shoot, but have found that what also works really well are the more soulful and artistic shots. They are typically shot on a darker plain background using lovely soft lighting. This can work really well with all ages, and we find we get some really exquisite results. Here are some of are favourites, just to show your child doesn’t have to be smiling to capture that brilliant shot!
