Mother of the Bride/Dress Designer
I shot a lovely Easter wedding at The Berystede hotel last weekend. A spring theme of sunflowers was present in all the decorations, the bouquets and even in the dress!
Ruth had the privilege of having an incredibly talented dress designer for a mother. From discussions we had before the wedding, I think this was the third dress that was designed but it was definitely worth the obvious time and effort that had been put into it.
The detail on the outside of the dress was gorgeous, but my favourite parts were the details most didn’t see. Under the many layers of the dress was a section of silk that had the couples names and date sewn on. On the first layer there was also a little pocket for Ruth to carry her makeup in! I loved that – why don’t more dresses have pockets in?
The day went brilliantly, even though the weather was a bit temperamental. We got loads of great natural photographs as Ruth and her dress were swung around by Jon at high speeds during the barn dance at the end!

That photo of the happy couple dancing is top class. Well taken! and we’re looking forward to the rest.”
